Style Volume on Pa5X

Post by Smoothiemusic »

I haven't had my Pa5X for very long, and so I hope this will be useful to other new owners of this amazing keyboard.

Right out of the box, I found that many of the the Style Volumes were much too loud, sometimes drowning out the Right hand accompaniment.

Go to Settings and then press Parameters.

You'll see that there are 3 Sliders at the bottom of the page where you can set Split points.
Korg have set all 3 sliders at 127...which explains why they are often way too loud.

I've now set mine to 65/65/75 and find that balance to be much more pleasant to work with when practising. Experiment to find out what suits you.

Obviously, this then becomes a global setting, but it doesn't prevent the player from increasing the style volume should you wish to for any style using the main sliders on the keyboard itself.

Thank you for this... I already new about this.. but it is a very important point for users who have transitioned from a PA4X to a PA5X...

I personally have remixed the volumes to the styles i use the most frequently.. and before you do this too, make sure you set the global mix as suggested by you....
