USB saving SNG
why is it that when saving to the USB flashdrive, I can save everything but the actual songs I have sequenced? Is the music actually backed up? It says it saved the PCG, KGE, KSC, but not SNG. What's the deal, and how do I get it to save SNG?

If you just want to save the .SNG only and none of the combis or programs or anything else really, select Save SEQ from the command menu when in Disk Mode.
You can, however, use the Save ALL option, which will save .SNG too. You don't see that in the dialog box, but it does save the Song with everything else that is selected on screen. Unselect anything you don't want to include.
You can also choose the Save PCG and SNG command.
Because saving and loading stuff can be somewhat complex on the Kronos with all the different ways to go about it, I'd recommend reading the relevant sections in the manuals just to familiarize yourself with the options available to you and the dependencies. In the Operation Guide, see pages 124 and 205. In the Parameter Guide, start at page 845.

SEQ is your song data.rolandlewishughes@yahoo.c wrote:why is it that when saving to the USB flashdrive, I can save everything but the actual songs I have sequenced? Is the music actually backed up? It says it saved the PCG, KGE, KSC, but not SNG. What's the deal, and how do I get it to save SNG?

There is no "Save PCG and SNG command". There is a "Save PCG and SEQ command. Do not want to confuse the OP any more than he already is. As a matter of fact, there is no reference to a Song or .SNG file anywhere in the Disk Mode Page Menu Commands.HardSync wrote:If you just want to save the .SNG only and none of the combis or programs or anything else really, select Save SEQ from the command menu when in Disk Mode.

You're right, thank you. And I am sure that I had meant to type Save PCG and SEQ, because I had written earlier in my comment to use the Save SEQ command. But hey, I'm human. I mix things up from time to time -- meh, maybe it's age too. If my attempt at helping the OP truly led to more confusion, well I certainly feel bad about causing that. Certainly not my intent. On the other hand, we haven't heard a peep out of him, no asking for clarification, nothing at all in 10 days, so maybe he got help elsewhere or figured it out on his own. Who knows? Thanks for stepping in and setting things straight.
Definitely wasn't trying to be a jerk. Hopefully the OP is playing along at home and will chime in with at least a thank you if we helped him solve his problem.HardSync wrote:You're right, thank you.
