x5d makes no sound

Post by sfdjndkljb »

My old x5d complained about a weak battery and made no sound. I installed a new battery and made sure all the connectors I can reach are connected well. It stopped complaining about the battery but still makes no sound, neither when pressing the keys nor when playing the demo and neither through the speaker connectors on the back nor through the headphone one in front. Tested with two headphones. "Local" is set to "on". Volume is up to max.I see no error messages. Any ideas? Thank you!

Have you tried initialising the X5D?

Hold Page + and Page - while turning it on.

Then perform a preload - Global Screen 5A, then select "OK".

Thank you. Unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

Is the Global MIDI channel set to channel 1?

Troubleshooting beyond this point is going to require a range of test equipment and a good knowledge of electronics. Going to a keyboard tech may be the next step.

Checking for audio at the Master Volume slider might offer some clues.
