Effects and Combis - Copying

Post by jetrocker »

Sorry, I'm sure covered before but haven't been able to find. Can I copy the master and total effects from one existing combi to another existing combi?

Thx, Mark

Yes. You'll need to use the Copy MFX/TFX command from the drop down menu when you're in the effects section. That will bring up a dialog box. You'll have a choice of copying individual effects or all of them at once. You can also do this with Insert Effects, in case you ever need it.

Thx, but still not clear. Do you copy effects while in the combi you want to copy from? If so, then how do you "Paste" the effects to the new combi? I tried it both ways and no joy.

If Im in the combi I want to copy effects from, then when I say "all master and total", then in the "To:" dialogue at the bottom of the box, it's greyed out, but if I hit it anyway then it just has a drop down the that lists MX1, MX2, TX1, TX2 separately. If I select one of them, even though I said "All" above, and hit OK....then what?

If anyone has a link to doing this, please provide and I can take it from there. Thx again.

I don't have a link to a video tutorial, and I don't know if there is one. If you need one, well I wish you the best of luck finding one because I can't find anything useful on YouTube these days -- at least not when searching from within YouTube, and using Google has become hit or miss as well.

Answering your question immediately, no, you don't do the command in the combi you want to copy from.

So... let's see if I can help you out. I will use Combi A and Combi B as examples. You will need to substitute your actual combi numbers.

Combi A has the effects you want. This is the FROM.

Combi B is where you want the effects that Combi A is using to go.

You begin in Combi B, where you're going to "paste" the copied effects. Do the Copy MFX/TFX command in Combi B. When you do the command to copy effects, you choose the location of Combi A in the FROM field.

Is that clear?

In other words, you need to be in the combi where the copied effects will end up.

If you select ALL MFX and ALL TFX at the same time, then the TO section will always be greyed out, because you are copying ALL of the effects from Combi A at once, into combi B, and the To section becomes irrelevant. If you only select one of those checkboxes, you get additional options. Why? Because you don't have to copy ALL of the effects. For example, you can copy just one MFX only, and if you choose that, then you have to pick which MFX you want from Combi A. That's why you're seeing what you're seeing. The To field designates the effect slots to copy into, not the combi number.

If you select ALL the dialog box has no sense because you can not copy the Master 1 to Master 2. Or Master to Total Fx. Check All mean All MFX TFX in the same location. Uncheck "All" then the Dialog box will be available to select MFX1 to MFX2, Or MFX1 to TFX1,2 ...

Send me a mail then will try to direct you with video calling.
