Osimo
Thanks for putting that post up Chelsea. It was my reply from Korg uk. that I put up on Keyboard Forums whilst this site was offline for a couple of days for maintenance.
WOW! What a gift from Korg. I printed off the pdf this morning, and it's a great addition to what we all know is one really fabulous arranger.
Just looking through it all it's exactly what I had been looking for. So many new categories.
A fun weekend ahead updating my own music books.

Hi,
I am impressed with the work Korg U.K. have put into producing the Osimo software. I notice that the styles link to the Factory keyboard sets.
Unfortunately, I find the keyboard sets to be a little uninspiring. Is there any way to change the voices and/or styles in the factory keyboard sets ?
I have been changing some songbook entries, making adjustments to sounds and settings and re-saving them, but was curious if there was any way to change the Factory keyboard sets.

Yes it is.Korg2024 wrote:Is this free? Can anyone upload the files to load into the Korg Pa5x? I can't get to the steps to download.
Follow the link in the first thread and it should get you there.
It does look like you buy it but that is not the case.
If the link does not work pm me with your email address and I will send the zip file, just extract it to a USB Memory Stick which has been formatted in your Pa

Yes it is FREE. All you need to do is follow the link in the post and select the OSIMO package, place it in the cart and click on buy. The value to be paid shows $0; now you need to enter a few details like name, physical address, e-mail etc., once all that is done. Check your e-mail box, and you'll have the link to download the zip file. If you have problems downloading the file, PM me and I'll send you the zip file that you need to extract and place in the USB stick which is compatible with the PA5X.Korg2024 wrote:Is this free? As far as I am aware the Factory keyboards sets cannot be changed, and are what are loaded each time we turn on the keyboard.
That said, what you are doing is what I do, and when I'm composing or searching for a different style, I often take a Factory keyset to use as a base. Then I'll alter settings in tempo, mixer, volume, voice and other settings until I get it how I want it.
Then I hold the SONG button for 2 seconds to enter a NEW song, delete the style that's showing (it doesn't delete it from the keyboard) and enter the new Song Name.
I then save that, and from there add it go whatever playlist I want to store it in.
I've just made a new playlist with around 14 entries titled Gershwin, for exactly this purpose.
Although I haven't had my Pa5X for very long, I took good advice to regularly back up! The time taken is well worth it!
I have ALL the styles from ALL the Pa series and other styles from Bonus packs in memory...takes about 20 minutes.
Hope that helps. I'm still learning, so a lot to take in!
Keith.
The Direct drive was and is a feature on other Pa models.ExTyrosFan wrote:Biggles wrote:Because it replaces all the prior Songbook entries including User Saved songs.chelsea4023 wrote:Hi,
If you don't want to keep your existing Songbook titles then simply
tick the 'replace all' box before loading Osimo.

It did for me.
Used the SaveAll file to restore my 5X and then used the method Chelsea “borrowed”, as we are both on the same other forum.
Hopefully Korg in an update will restore the Direct Drive feature.
Hi Biggles,
what is the direct drive feature?
Once activated the OS will see applicable files which are stored on a USB Memory Stick and you can access them as they stayed there and were not loaded into internal memory.
With the older Osimo when you opened Songbook the songs which were within Osimo on the Memory Stick each song had a border highlight to signify that they were on the Memory stick and not in the internal memory of the Pa.
