PA700 duplicate files

Post by timtrax »

I have a feeling this has been covered but here goes......
I first got my PA700 in June 2024 and initially I had duplicate midi files that appeared. That is, for every midi file there was a useless 'ghost' file.
The problem suddenly disappeared, one day, so I didn't worry about it. About 10 days ago, (ie months later) suddenly every midi file that is in the songbook, has that ghost file, again.
Using a USB wire, I have hooked my 700 up to my beautiful Mac and carefully emptied the trash.....but it hasn't helped. (Actually there was no trash to empty). When I look at the 700 files (which are on an 700 SD card) everything looks normal on the MAC (no ghost files)
On the 700 itself, in song play. MODE, all files play OK ALL files play OK in the songbook. (but there are 2 of each) I can only copy 1 of the files to a setlist. I can manually delete a 'ghost' file using 'tags' and 'delete song'
Gear: Korg Tr76, Korg pa700, Roland E50, M-audio 49 Key Rig, Roland BK9, Korg Micro-X. Logic for audio, Cubase for midi.

With OS 1.1. you will find some new procedures to select Direct.set folder.

Maybe you touched the Direct Folder > Browse button to open the file selector and select a folder containing the same songbook you used for loading, the Direct SongBook, its Entries and Set Lists will be automatically added to the internal Entries and Set Lists.

If you deselect that Direct.set and make them disappear, no ghostfiles or double songbook entries will appear.
*
Otherwise, this function is ideal for merging the entries of the internal songbook with Direct.sets and using (creating, saving ..) songbook entries choosing between Internal and Direct SongBook.
kind regards
