KORG Triton Extreme 61 Sustain Pedal & Sounds Sticking Issue

Post by christurbis »

Hi,
I just bought a super mint condition Extreme 61. Everything on this thing is like never used.
However, I got on-stage with it, and the Sustain Pedal that I had successfully calibrated to it, stopped working mid performance.
I rebooted with the pedal jack out, and the sounds started sticking on.
Im looking for any and all ideas that might be causing this?
Thank you in advance for anyones help.

What make and model of sustain pedal was used with the Triton Extreme? Does it have a half damper function? Korg are quite specific about the DS-1H being the appropriate half damper pedal to use with the Triton Extreme.

With the pedal disconnected, try going to the Global menus, Global P2 Controller page, and set the Damper polarity to (-) KORG Standard, and do a Write Global Setting in the top right dropdown menu. Reboot the Triton Extreme. If the sustain effect is still present, then there is a problem with the pedal signal detection circuitry in the Triton.

Hi Voip and thank you for the reply.
I did get in touch with a KORG guru over there.
He suggested 3 fixes. The first was the obvious. Changing the position on the pedals polarity switch.
The second one which is the one that worked was: Power down the keyboard. Press down completely on the pedal and while keeping the pedal depressed 100%, power up the keyboard while holding the pedal down the entire time until the Combi patch comes up on the screen.
Again, that one worked like a charm and who would've know it??

I've listed the suggested fixes below for anyone's future use, as this problem is not uncommon and is one of the more frustrating glitches.

• 1 Change the position on the pedals polarity switch.

• 2 Power down the keyboard. Press down completely on the pedal and while keeping the pedal depressed 100%, power up the keyboard while
holding the pedal down the entire time until the Combi patch comes up on the screen.

• 3 The third fix was to change the + or - in the damper polarity inside the global controller setting.

Again, I thank you for your input.
