Saving chords in Songbook, Style, and Library

Post by siebenhirter »

Hello,
due to my frustration with the chord sequencer, which doesn't work perfectly in the Pa1000 but is highly praised in the Pa5x, I edit the faulty data exported from the Pa1000 with CakeWalkProf on a PC running Windows XP.

Since 2019, the Pa1000 has also been able to save chords in the Songbook, Style, and Library, so progressions disappear when the keyboard is turned off.

With that feature <Export>, the chord sequencer in the Pa1000 is more versatile than in the Pa5x, because the only improvement in which, in my opinion, is the integrated chord sequence library with its selectable chord sequences or those saved in the styles.
With CakeWalk or similar sequencer software, you can not only create a Chord Sequence Library but also use it conveniently, without being limited to Korg's own Chord Progressions, but can also draw on the full range of the www chord progressions. This allows you to adapt the various characteristics for direct access with the ChordSequencer, correct incorrectly exported data, edit chord information, and prepare ChordLooper progressions or Step Backing/Quick Backing files for use.

It's hard to imagine that you haven't noticed that some reused chord files have unusable setups with the first bar, that the progression doesn't always start in the first bar, that the progression is missing the last chord, etc. At the very least, you should have noticed that the automatic chords often didn't run in sync with the style once they were converted and written using <Export>!

If you're interested, I'd like to try to format my test reports for different progression data types and publish them, but I'd like to wait a bit to see if the Pa5x progressions will be available online or in forums.

Reports on your experiences with the Pa1000 ChordSequencer would be very helpful, and I would ask you to publish them here.
kind regards
