Nore more KORG

Post by Bescki »

Dear KORG,

In 2022, I purchased the Pa5X. This is the third year now, and the device still does not function as it should. In fact, it lacks features that even the Pa4X had. It is full of bugs, crashes (imagine that happening during a live concerts)....

We have been complaining for three years now, and you still dont take this issue seriously. Instead of engaging more engineers to complete a stable operating system, all we get are promises that a minor update will be released every six months. In the end, it has become clear to all of us that KORG is no longer interested in professional arranger keyboards. As a result, you will lose a major market... together with me.

Dont forget that the Balkans, Turkey, and the Middle East are regions where arrangers are used the most. Until now, nearly 99% of users in these regions have used KORG Pa4X or Pa5X, but now we are starting to see other brands. That means we are tired of waiting, and we’ve suffered a lot because of this. Personally, I’ve lost over €50,000 due to missed events telling collaborators to wait a little longer for stability that never came.

I paid €4,300 for what turned out to be an amateur-level keyboard.

What KORG did to this community is a shamee.... disssrespectful, amateurish, a disaster.

And dont forget: those of us who use arrangers also use keyboards like the Kronos, Nautilus, etc., for sounds. But NO MORE KORG BRAND.

However, from now on, I am absolutely certain: I will never buy anything from KORG again, and I will not recommend it to anyone.

Shame, shame, shame.

HI Bescki,

I'm so sorry your having such difficulties with the Pa5x. I am not going to defend Korg here. I can't believe Korg would let such a loyal customer like us experience such frustrations.

Let's hope they come through with a transformational update and please us all.

I just wanted to show my solidarity with you on this issue!

Regards,
Al

Hi Bescki

I have to agree.
I am silently waiting and hoping for Korg to renew my confidence in them and produce an arranger that is "finished" and passed quality assurance and user acceptance testing BEFORE releasing.
PA5x is a great machine but now poorly supported - released way too soon and update delays are a joke. Guess I've been spoiled with the i3,i30,PA1xpro,PA2xpro,PA3xpro, and my current PA4xpro - they ALL did (and do) the job and conform to their specifications. I experienced one major issue with my PA1Xpro screen - Korg Italy helped me directly in those days (as they did with many other owners over the years).

Will wait and see.......

One might reasonably wonder, given the social, historical, negative press, and industry skepticism surrounding the Pa5X, what steps Korg is taking to address concerns about its reputation since the Pa5X's inception. It would seem that Korg management may not be heeding the adage, "Insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different outcomes." Unless Korg alters its approach to self-preservation, a future Pa5X successor may not be forthcoming.

I remain perplexed by Korg's business practices, especially considering the challenging global economic environment. This is unusual to me and would seem so to many others.

"Challenging economic situation" is putting it lightly! Smaller manufacturers are all facing huge headwinds in their attempts to remain solvent in this world economy. let's hope some clarity presents itself sooner rather than later. [-o<

Indeed, I hope Korg learns quickly from past mistakes and prevails, because nothing else really compares to a Korg arranger (with or without any historical issues)..

Yamaha's arranger users will say exactly the same thing, Yamaha is the best... Ketron will say exactly the same, Ketron is the best... So I think your statement is a bit subjective :)
Personally I have both PA5X and Genos2, and my main arranger is G2, not PA5X... I admit that Korg has a lot of more build-in editable parameters than Yamaha, but, again, for me the sound of my G2 is far better than the PA5X's sound for the genres I play. But I also have to admit that there are some genres I cannot play them on Genos2 and I have to play them on PA5X, because it sounds better on PA5X than G2.

Finally, each one of us have different taste for sound, different taste for build-in editable things (availability in keyboard), being objective I can say each arranger has its own trump card :)

Vali

You are absolutely correct; what I should have said, "from my personal perspective".

Hi,
I bought meine one year ago and i was disapointed.
I asked korg and they said , update will complete the Funktions and will come soon.
Same Thing when i asked Korg when the Update 1.4.0 is coming… they answered its coming soon ….
What does mean soon … one year, two years or hundred years. I wrote a email to Korg an told them i am going to sale this Keyboard and will never, never buy again from Korg.
For this price i expected more…
To all the people outside , dont buy this Keyboard until they move there asses.

I have always had good responses from Korg. Continued good success, so far. I still use my PA3x on gigs. No reason to use the 5x. As I am learning guitar, and the guitar input is great sounding. And with chord sequencer, I can jam along. Which may be future use?
Plan on using the PA5x in the field this fall, as I order the Korg FISA Suprema C digital accordion. Which will the fit the PA5x controls. And the input will suffice the need to no longer need another mixer.. as my present Roland digital accordion sounds great plugged in…
Right now to change companies is not in my future…happy customer…
