News about the Pa5X update?

Post by Gunnar J »

Quote from a post by 'Tapas' at SZ:

"The OS Update from Korg has been delayed once again. Now we are looking at a Nov/Dec time frame. However, that is not a hard deadline. The Korg programmers are working feverishly in Italy to bring you an OS Update that will address all the user issues.

It will be worth the wait."

Hi Gunnar J,
I just read your Post about the O/S update being put back to Nov/Dec. Could I just ask who 'Tapas' is ?

Obviously Korg has the final decision on when they release the new O/S 1.4.0 but regarding the final comment, " It will be worth the wait ",
I don't think that in my numerous years of reading keyboard Forums I have ever come across a more patronising and condescending statement before.

Hi Chris.
I only passed on this info from a SZ post, and maybe I should not do so. I don't know 'Tapas' other than that he's a long time member of SZ.
In a way, or in fact, I agree in that it's worth to wait, because I would rather wait and get a update that won't mess up anything else in the brand new OS if it's not tested enough. I guess all the users that did not find or have any much problems with the Pa5X as it is, will still be happy.
But regardless, leaks or not, only Korg's engineers and developers know for sure if or when the upgraded OS will be released.

The Pa5X-76 I bought still works without any problems, neither is there any hardware issues. My friend that bought it from me use it regulary at gigs as well as at home.
But that doesn't mean we're not curious and excited about what the next update brings. I'm planning add a new Pa5X to my G2, but for now there is other things that's more urgent in the new surroundings wife and me have moved to and settled into.. :D

Btw, there is also some info quoted from Korg in this thread / post:

Cheers 🥂
