Pa5X OS v1.4 is coming! - official news from Korg.com
Following our preview at NAMM earlier this year, we’re excited to confirm that the wait is almost over: Pa5X OS version 1.4 will be released very soon.
This is a major update, with OS1.4 including all the features previewed at NAMM, alongside additional enhancements inspired by feedback from Pa5X players across the globe.
We’ll announce the full details soon, but here are the highlights you can look forward to in OS v1.4:
● Recording Studio - a powerful new environment for backing-track creation (formerly Quick Record)
● Full Song Edit - deep MIDI song editing with hands-on control
● Style Creator Bot - convert MIDI files into brand-new Styles
● User resource sorting & icon selection - organise your setup your way
● Copy & swap Keyboard Sets - faster editing across Styles and SongBook entries
● De-Esser - new vocal tools in the microphone section
OS v1.4 is almost here, and we can’t wait to get it into your hands. We’ll be announcing the exact release date soon - stay tuned.

I hope they also made changes to fix the problem with samples and references so you can move samples. I wonder how the Style Creator Bot will work. It worked fine at the NAMM demo, but maybe the MIDI file is already fully optimized. More sounds and styles are also welcome.
Too bad they can't give a date, only soon. They said that in January too
At least it has the attention

They said „soon” in January. Now, it’s June. They said again soon. Guess the release date!

Hi,everyone!
Re: Pa5X OS v1.4 is coming! - official news from Korg.com
I am willing to wait a little longer, so that the sw bugs can be ironed out before being released. I guess it may be released on or just before 4th July, so that people can try it out over the 4th July holiday weekend.

This is encouraging, as one would guess this must now be in the final stages of testing.

Re: Pa5X OS v1.4 is coming! - official news from Korg.com
Hi All,
When the announcement came in January this year that there was to be a new Version 1.4 O/S released I was pleased. O/S 1.3.1 is (as many users have said) is reasonably stable. Personally, I have had no issues with it (probably because I do not dig too far into the menus).
This latest update leaves me a little concerned though. I have been asking (for the two years that I have owned my PA5X) that Korg get around to implementing the 'Quick Record' feature (that has been available on the £250 EK50 arranger from it's inception). It appears that's not going to happen now. Instead we are getting a 'Recording Studio' a powerful new environment for backing track creation. All I ever wanted was the ability to press one button, play something on the PA5X, then press another button and whatever I recorded is played back. I hope that this new feature allows me to do that.
Chris

Re: Pa5X OS v1.4 is coming! - official news from Korg.com
I have reached out to the OS developers multiple times about different bugs that can be proven on every system. Let me give you an example try switching from any beat to another and you will see a cliffhanger. The OS developers assured me that I didn't read the manual properly. I am literally the authority on the PA series and I really don't care if you believe me or not because I have a thousand people that can back me up and I have been the authority for the last 10 years. I have reached out directly to Korg and KorgUSA to advocate on behalf of every keyboard is that uses the 5x to no avail. They have ignored every communication. I have offered my help and I literally live 20 minutes away from Korg USA. They are so far in denial it's insane. I doubt this update will fix anything because they don't listen to anyone that doesn't tell them what they want to hear.

I agree with you Aripearlmusic. I am also doubtful about the fixing of existing bugs. So far they have been adding new features and the bugs remains untouched. It will be very interesting to see how the quick record and post editing works with such an unstable OS. There are lots of issues with songbook, style edit, user samples, handling external midi commands like changing keyboard sets etc which are not imported from previous models. To be honest i dont care about the new features. All I need is a stable OS which I can use reliably in a live situation.

100% I have tried to reason with them but they are stuck with the same typical responses that you would get from an AI that is unhinged. I gave Korg one last chance to deal with me but honestly I feel that Ketron is a significantly better choice. Korg is silent with their customers and simply don't care what their customers think. Ketron actually listens and I recommend that those that were looking at the 5x as the latest and greatest should be looking at Ketron instead. Korg's silence to the gigging musicians is deafening. It is quite clear that they don't care whatsoever what their customers think and I believe that abandoning ship is the right thing to do at this point. I will be making my sounds available in Ketron format and Korg can kiss my rear enddeminda wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 3:58 am I agree with you Aripearlmusic. This makes me laugh. Just because you live close by, does not mean they will let any nut job into their headquarters, and give access to heavily protected OS. It does not work like thatAripearlmusic wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 3:31 am I have offered my help and I literally live 20 minutes away from Korg USA. They are so far in denial it's insane

You sound like a crying kid who has been denied chocolates by the parents. You claim you are an authority on PA series, "what authority are you?", "Is it acknowledged by Korg?" If you are really an authority on PA series, you could have fixed those issues by now and given Korg engineering your inputs on the packaging issues (eg., LED becoming black due to mechanical issue), electronic HW issues or even fixed the bugs in the OS!!Aripearlmusic wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 3:31 am ...I am literally the authority on the PA series and I really don't care if you believe me or not because.... By the way, I live about 900 meters away from the Porsche factory in Germany, and everyday, I see Porsche cars being built and shipped out; but that does not qualify me or the people on that street to be employed or even be a consultant for Porsche!!
Re: Pa5X OS v1.4 is coming! - official news from Korg.com
Criticism of Aripearlmusic's proactive efforts, given the extended period since the PA5X's release and the perceived lack of engagement from Korg, may be viewed as unfair.
The absence of communication once known on this forum from Korg has led to a sense of much frustration within Korg's customer base.
The previous forum structures, which facilitated busy, proactive, organized reporting of issues, and then provided reassurance of Korg's attention, is no longer apparent as known historically.
The current lack of communication, according to Korg's new policy, has generated significant confusion and discord among PA5X users, which now exceeds previous levels observed on this forum (including social media).
Importantly, individuals attempting to assist in addressing PA5X customer concerns in this post-PA5X era directly with Korg deserve recognition and support for their efforts.

Really strange behaviour from Korg.
Why announce now, after so many months of delay, that the new version is “soon” to come?!
Just wait a few days or weeks longer and announce when it’s ready and available!
I can’t follow this strategy at all.
See what happens if you did something similar at work…. A job ending scenario I guess in most cases.
