There probably is a TAP TEMPO button which is usable?

well..lets say your on a gig, had a few beers and play songs that changes rapidly you will never manage to get in sync

I have tried this with a friend of mine when recording on his mac, but got to a point and punched in the right tempo instead
(he didnt have midi...he is a guitar guy)

That's what I did, used the default tempo but if the tempo would be faster or slower while gigging I could adjust it slightly ... however I also used another 'trick' ... each time I pressed the keys again it restarted so it couldn't go far off anyway. It was just a fast repetition of keys, I could have done it with a LFO (if I'm right) probably too.
