Rob , Pa5X has all Pa4X Grand pianos plus some pianos borrowed from Kronos in 6 velocity layers , but new added pianos are in
real stereo PCM format and not paired L-R multisamples like in Pa4X , every stereo note uses one note polyphony so increased polyphony
in stereo samples is enhanced 65% in Pa5X.
In other words , a stereo piano in Pa4X uses 2 notes polyphony per note with paired L-R multisamples so the polyphony of 128
notes is reduced to 64.
Pa5X has a real polyphony of 160 notes per stereo note , this is the real game changing in Sampler engine.
Better piano Hmm ... this is very subjective ! Me for instance I never liked any Korg Piano , I always use pianos of my development and
now I have the Ram capability in Pa5X to use 2 & 3 Gb premium Grand Pianos of WavesArt.
The pros in factory pianos samples is the correct resonance velocity layers samples so you can reduce custom piano size using them.
Concerning users that want the exact editing buttons of Pa4X , stay in your Pa4X and let other expert users and developers going on.
We do not defend Korg but now we can work sufficiently in style editor and do all we did in Pa4X while development of Pa5X is continuing.
