Well, this explains why that combi is particularly awesome. I really didn't know this before, or that Paul was involved with Karma-Lab. I remember very well the outstanding performances Paul programmed for the Wavestation -- those were some of the best banks ever released for that synth. Good to see he's working with you, Stephen. :)
Actually, Paul has been working with me on KARMA Performances for many years. For the red Karma, we have two sets (Chemistry 1 & 2) done by Paul and myself, and Chemistry 3, a combination of Paul and Jim (Eric) Sawyers work - and Paul contributed many combis to the OASYS and M3 voicing. Towards the Sun was one of them. He's working with me now on the Performances for the upcoming release of KARMA Motif software.

Speaking of DreamWaves and TranceWaves, if you've got a wavestation or the Korg software version, we recenlty put Paul's wavestation sets back up for sale at the Karma-Lab store. ;)

"Towards the sun" is one of my favorites combis in the M3. And is great to have the opportunity of to meet and say thanks to its "father". Contragulations, Stephen!

Just love that low frequencies hanging around. I use the combi to test my sound ;)

Too bad Kronos does not have it. I will miss it.

The ge's are the same for all scenes. The values of the KARMA switches and sliders are what changes with the scenes.

Since you've already done the work of converting "Towards the Sun," might you consider releasing it as a file that Kronos owners could download? Or wouldn't Korg permit you to do such a thing?

Well, I converted the KARMA part of it, and the combi part of it (all the effects settings and assignments) - but all the programs were wrong at that point. I then roughly assigned some Kronos programs to it, and it sounded "sorta" like it. At that point I handed it off to the committee and it ended up turning into A000 Era of Kronos.

I was toying with the idea of putting it up...maybe someone would like to work on it and make it sound more like the original?

Stephen

It would be great if you could make it available for us all please!

I thought Era of Kronos was reminiscent of Towards... But have to say I don't think it ended up being the combi to put in A00!

I will never forgot when I first turned on my M3 in may 2007 and hit pad one on Towards the Sun! Fantastic.

Cheers
Steve

I'm going to put that combi up in the next few days, in this thread. I may edit a bit more first.

thanks stephen,

I know with you programming it, it will sound great,
also, i can't seem to find ge "syncopop" in the kronos, or when you hit the second scene button in the m3 demo, and the drums really kick in with that killer drum grove.
