It's a very easy firmware update, just define two new CCs: program up, program down.
I think EnjoyRC found the solution to your problem though? Unless you are talking about switching individual patches within a combi perhaps?
Well not exactly, if I understand correctly you can enter 128 program (changes) into the device which are more or less fixed. What I want is a simple Program up and Program down CC (signal). But Korg does not support this. On the other hand, if you program it from 1 to 128 it should work :-) ... but I already have a big pedalboard, otherwise it would be worth considering.
EnjoyRC - can you confirm his statement?

I assumed that was pretty much a simple "up or down" switch. If you are actually entering 128 fixed changes - then that is definitely not what I'm looking for.

Did another gig last night - bit strange as I stood in for the band's regular keyboard player. We did a quick practice the other day just to get the set list - needless to say, last night the setlist totally changed!! :D

This band is a totally different sound to what I had programmed with the Funkatronics, but the band were really impressed with the sonic quality of the Kronos (and my performance, of course!! :D)

PLayed on the back of a truck in the middle of nowhere!!

Apologies about the quality - pics taken with a sh1tty iphone :(

I've chucked a quick recording (so apologies for the mistakes!) of Kronos being played onto SoundCloud - should be a WAV file, so no sh1tty mp3 quality!
http://soundcloud.com/gogglehed/love-fool-kronos

In Funkatronics, we do a cover of Jamiroquai's "Love Foolosophy", so I just played along with the version recorded for the UK TV show "Live at Abbey Road"..... (check this out on YouTube - it is a FINE band!!) Our version is 99.9% faithful to this version.

I've automated (just volume!) the backing track, so you can hear how it sounds. All recorded in Logic.

The sounds used are a George Duke EP, Strings, Kronos Grand, an edited lead sound that plays in the chorus, and sampled hits. All processed inside Kronos with a few inserted plugins (EQ, compression and reverb) - all chucked into a Combi and into Set List.

DAn :)

Looks like Soundcloud doesn't like 50meg files!! :(

Still says its "preparing for transcoding" - 5 hours and counting!!! :D

Will check it in a couple of hours/tomorrow. If no joy, will look at hosting it on Youtube.

You guys cover any Bill Withers? His Carnegie recording and the crew he was playing with during those days created some of of the greatest grooves.

Maceo Parker is my all time favorite funk man, but Bill's crew really knew how to groove:

Yes, we do that track - really soulful too with a lovely groove.

Also do Average White Band (I also work with the Producer who discovered them!!!!), Parliment, some D-Train.

Nothing like a bit o Funk!! :D

edited the link now! :D
Just to add that the mix is intentionally Kronos-heavy ;-)

Forgot to add that I've had the pleasure of playing with Paul Turner (the bass player) - he recorded @ UB40's studio during my time there :) Great guy. GREAT player. 8)

If you want to hear the real version, I've hyper-linked the Youtube text now)

Why is it that the keyboard player always gets the "you don't need much room so we'll stick you in the farthest corner" routine?

I played a show on Friday night in a similar trailer and I got the exact same spot. grrrrrr....
