Despite a couple of glitches with the OS (every product has issues - Logic, DP, Mac OS...but they all eventually get fixed), it is an awesome keyboard, nothing else really comes close to its vast sound engines.

Happy With Kronos

Post by JPROBERTLA »

I have had my K61 for 6 weeks, have had no problems and am very happy with it. I am getting used to the difference between it and my Triton Studio and have begun to understand and comprehend exactly what that is. While the Triton does has some sounds the Kronos doesn't (yet), I can say with certainty that the sonic quality and flexibility is much greater and there is a lot more upside and capability with this synthesizer.

This was, for me, the "leap" I had been waiting for and I am 100% sure that it is everything I thought it would be. Also, this keyboard is still very early in it's lifecycle; it should not be compared to fully explored synths - you need to look back 2 or 3 years from know and see where it is compared to what else is out there.

Still concerned about the degree of obvious hardware issues and some not very well communicated huge delays. There's no "either-or" for me.

i guess i dont have mine yet but you have to understand that not every kronos user comes here to chat. On the other hand every kronos user with an issue has called support, gone to the korg page and eventually ended up here(at least more likely). You have to believe that most people who have a kronos in working order never gave the forum a second thought. I wouldnt just take the complaints with a grain of salt, maybe a few tablespoons.

(note: im sorry if you have faulty gear, im not trying to sound insensitive i was just pointing out the likely-hood of what kind of user is going to hop on the forum. I plan on purchasing mine sometime late summer, hopefully the editer will be out.)

I am perfectly happy with it (well almost 100%). Reason is that I'm a software engineer and I always can see some improvement here and there.

I don't have the infamous key problems (having a 61 version).

And what's even best is I barely touched lots of the features inside (sequencer, Karma, sampling) so there is a whole journey to discover in front of me.

I think this should be much more effective if you convert this to a Poll... I suggest to include more than 1 option, for example:
- No issues at all.
- Minor issues not disturbing my performances.
- Major issues which have been controlled.
- Major issues potentially disturbing my live performances.
- Major issues stopping me from using my Kronos.
- I just can't use it at all... what a crap!

I have occasional cut off problems...........all very weird.

Having said that......I absolutely love my Kronos. I've put some vocals on a song tonight using the audio recorder, over a sequenced backing track. It's so easy.

Nothing in life is perfect. The Kronos is having a damn good try at it. With some glitches to be fixed, editors and libraries still to come, it can only get even better.

The Kronos is a beauty and a beast in my opinion. 8)
