I assume you have a 73 or 88 version? Possibly for a 61 wheels can be more comfortable too however I really don't have problems not having wheels (but the 61 is not heavy).markn wrote:+1SanderXpander wrote:I'm never getting a case without wheels again, myself.

I've got that one from Flightcase warehouse (Spider engineering). My only concern with it is that there seems to be no allowance made for the knobs which sit slightly about the height of the chassis. However, it's been out in the case to rehearsals and gigs and no obvious issues.Kontrol49 wrote:Korg UK have been listing those type cases on ebay for a while,(still a little steep in price for what they are though)
Your essentially paying for the Korg logo,I would rather get a semi flight bespoke one than these plastic moulded ones, plus there must be the same spec ones without the branding logo far cheaper
I've always bought my case's from Flightcase warehouse.

Some £70 cheaper here for IMO a better protecting case for the Kronos 61 never been a fan of those plastic/ABS ones, certainly wouldn't pay £224 for that just for a Korg logo

I have an 88, but I'm also really happy with the wheels on the case for my Extreme 61. Even though that's a lightweight one.michelkeijzers wrote:I assume you have a 73 or 88 version? Anyone find a good price in Europe for one ?
I don't want to buy a standard case because they never make any effort cutting the foam to protect knobs and so on....
Regards
Sharp.

I bought one from Thomann.de, they have cases they make specifically for a synth but have a fixed price. The cases are called Thon. I am quite positive about it, but it doesn't have wheels. I like the leather carrying handle (much better than a plastic one which is default). They have wooden and PVC ones, I have the PVC one. If you want I can make pictures.Sharp wrote:Anyone find a good price in Europe for one ?

+1 for Gator cases, couldn't have waited this long for cases and wouldn't have paid the insane price!NuSkoolTone wrote:Eh, looks like a last gen SKB. I like my Gator ATA case WAAAAAY Better. Thanks but no thanks Korg!

I'm expecting a price tomorrow for a 73 case. I assume that's the price for the 61. It's good to know cause AUD and CAD are almost at par.narf wrote:Thanks for posting this, I didn't know these existed until today...I just ordered mine, AU$199
I will prolly order one because of the wheels and the interior must have been designed to protect sticks and knobs.
+1 for the Thon cases - really well-built stuff for a more than reansonable price. I own one for my 61 and it sits perfectly in there. They have a clue to put more or less "standard" foam bricks at exactly the right locations to make the synth fit.michelkeijzers wrote: I bought one from Thomann.de, they have cases they make specifically for a synth but have a fixed price. Regarding wheels: I have ordered a pair of wheels and a second handle along with my case and assembled them at home.

Did you assemble it on the Thon case? Sounds interesting..Jens wrote: Regarding wheels: I have ordered a pair of wheels and a second handle along with my case and assembled them at home.

Yes, exactly. I ordered a pair of Adam Hall 3782 wheels, they can be fitted on the outside of almost every case. I would not recommend these for heavier boards - but for 73 and 88 keys, Thon already offers better wheels with their serial cases.michelkeijzers wrote:Did you assemble it on the Thon case? I just drilled the smaller rivet holes carefully enough to not damage the foam behind the wood and used standard alu/steel blind rivets. For the larger screw holes that carry the weight, I removed a small part of the foam with a circular punch, with could be easily replaced after assembly.
I can send pictures, if you like. [/url]

Thanks very much for the description ... you can wait with pictures, first want to check myself it if would be worthwhile because most of the times carrying the synth is more convenient (small lengths to carry and several bumps in the house and stairs). However I regularly buy things at Thomann so this could be a nice addition..Jens wrote:Yes, exactly. I ordered a pair of Adam Hall 3782 wheels, they can be fitted on the outside of almost every case.
