Can any one tell me where to upload the user drum patterns from? Was it in the update but I missed it or do I just pick a pattern I like and load it from the existing drum sounds?

Thanks all!
KRS-06 had a Drum Patterns directory in it that contains the Eruption pattern.
Look inside the KRS-06.PCG directory if you want to load it by itself.

Yes, it can be loaded into a user drum pattern and then used as program drum track for the Eruption key split program from there

question about the drum patterns that are in the file and can be loaded.

is there any concerns that I need to have with loading them as far as overwriting...? when you push load it doesn't really ask where to put them.

and how do the organ presets know where to look for the correct drum tracks?
thanks.

Other than "Eruption", all the other sounds use the Factory drum patterns, so they are always there. No problem.

To be honest, "Eruption" is sort of a trick setting, since you can only play the opening phrase from the tune. It's one pattern, so it can't go through all the twists and turns of the tune. But it's great for demonstrating the signature "head" of the tune.

Arne, I agree 100%, these new programs are great, and the original programs were awful.. from awful to awesome.. very nice job Jerry and crew!!

The original programs were very rinky dinky.. they had no body to them... and in fact they sounded like everyone's idea of a B3, rather than the real sound of a B3.. the best program from the original set was "CX-3 ORGAN 888 SW1" which, with a bit of tweaking, became my "goto" organ (although I sent it on a separate output to a ventilator because the original leslie sim wasn't very good)..

I think that the new leslie sim and other improvements in the CX3 engine have contributed to the high quality of the new programs, but I also think that the programmers (including Jerry and all the other players) have simply done a much better job of creating some nice sounding Hammond organs!!

Adding myself to the list of new CX3 praisers!
When I got the Kronos I was a bit disappointed with the CX3 - slightly wishing I had my Roland VR700 back.
Not any more

Meanwhile I've had a closer look at the other KRS-06 presets as well, and there is more quality stuff from all authors:
lots of very well useable B3 sounds across completely different settings and styles.

With this CX-3 V.2 engine it is easy to change presets to your liking, or build your own, whatever original you have in mind. It's really a very well useable "B3 in the Kronos" now.

I've posted some KRS-06 demos including one of the Keith Emerson splits here in this thread....

hello to all organ fans -

maybe someone in this thread can direct me to a solution.
I love the organ sound of Milt Buckner. And there is one specific sound I am looking for. Milt has a tune with Buddy Tate -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kwz4eqxFzvk
Tune is called: When I am blue

The sound I am looking for starts around 1.05 and goes on for a while in the back of the sax solo...then again at the end around 8.51 when Milt finishes his solo..
Anyone here that can give me some hints on how to archieve this sound in the kronos?
Maybe ccmacdon - great post in soundcloud - loading in the kronos is tricky and it helps to make sure the KRS06 is correctly installed.
Thanxx.

Actually it's a pretty standard jazz organ sound.. the leslie is on stop, the drawbar setting is probably 808000000 and the C/V is on (probably C1 setting). You should probably play with the 8' drawbar and set it to your likeing.. it may not be all the way out, and depending on the organ players generally set this to taste.

This tone is easy to get with any of the new OS update, and I think that it's already there in a number of the new presets.

Hope this helps :!:

thank you ccmacdon - I will work with that - you are right, there are many sounds that have tones that seem close - so far, I was not able to pick the right one - one thing I noticed: there is a big difference between ORGAN reccords produce on vinyl and newer ones on CD.
Thanxx again.

Vinyl and CD are worlds appart in terms of audio quality.

Good song, btw!
