Hi patrickmagongo,
From your posts is looks to me that you adjusted the velocity curve settings on your keyboard to a more usable level. You went from "Fix"to "Soft 1".
As I mentioned in another post - you really should try say "Soft 3" to achieve a more controllable and expressive way of playing.
I'm using a Pa3x but I think the procedure would be almost the same. This setting is adjusted by going to Global, Basic Tab, Velocity Curve.
Don't panic about upsetting your keyboard if you update the OS. Just make sure you have backed up your settings first and they will not be lost.
To backup do a Media, Save, All, Save to , New Set, give it a name, OK, OK, make sure everything is ticked, OK, Yes. This way your Global settings are recoverable if required.
The only things that a Media, Save All will not backup are things like midi files or mp3s - you should back these up separately by copying them to a USB stick.
Cheers,
John

The velocity curve is being adjusted in Global, under the controllers tab.
There you can adjust the velocity curve as well as the after touch curve.
Hope this helps.

The only stupid questions are the questions that have not been asked.

Is the default setting for the velocity curve set at 2?
What are the pros & cons of the other settings?
Bought this PA600 about 3 weeks ago and only started messing about with it last week. Coming from the Technics KN600, which you turn on press a few switches and start playing, I am absolutely befuddled and confused by this Korg PA but I guess half the fun is in discovering whats under the hood.
Thanks for your help.

You can do the same thing with the Korg. When I got mine, I turned it on, pressed aview buttons, and great music came out. You just have to sit down and experiment with some of the things. This is a great Keyboard. I don't know anything about the Technics Keyboard, but when I was researching which Keyboard to buy, I was not impressed about the Technics. But this is personal preference.
This is one of the best Keyboard in that price range.
Have fun exploring and don't be afraid to ask questions.
I have never messed with the settings yet, so I assume the default is 2. However, try the other settings out, read the manual. And don't be confused, be amazed.
