New KORG Pa-Series instruments updated, now with a new Fingered mode, tablet support, and faster boot time

With the release of the newest operating systems from KORG, Pa3XLe, Pa900, Pa600, Pa600QT and Pa300 now feature a new Fingered chord recognition mode, making it possible to recognize a chord only when playing three notes.

Pa900, Pa600 and Pa300 improve compatibility with tablets (already included in Pa3XLe). With this new release, you can use most iOS and Android devices as music sheet readers, perfectly synchronized with the SongBook library of your Pa-Series instruments. With this release, we also got the opportunity to make the boot time shorter.

OS-Update Pa300/600/900

Post by siebenhirter »

Hello,
it is gratifying that at least the Fingered3 mode is possible and works great now - but it does not seem all of complained problems was correctet!

Still missing: the FILL-MODE and the FILL MODE LOCK ICON as style-controls. This useful features are well known and were existing in all Pa-models since more than 10 years.
I can not believe why these were omitted in the new models - and are again not included in the updates!

KORG SHOULD TRY TO HOLD THE LEVEL OF FUNCTIONS THAT ALREADY WHERE PRESENT - SO WITHOUT RE-IMPLEMENTING FILL-MODE-FEATURES
IN NEXT OS-RELEASE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE NEW PRODUCTS STILL ARE A THROWBACK IN DEVELOPMENT OF ARRANGER-STYLEPLAYERS.

Who has been using a new Pa-Keyboard for some days and finds it a great addition to his arsenal - maybe, but without FILL-MODE-FEATURES someone who have skills with older Pa-Keyboards is still missing that.

Also newer keyboards are not dumbed down or lite versions of software, as someone thought before update.

*****
PS: The criticism of lacking Fingered3-mode of the new Pa-Series may have been successful - thanks to all who have complained about the need for relevant updates and have helped so that a fix will be released.
kind regards

Suggesting how others may be still "disappointed"…..???
Is this now just pot-stirring or do you actually have one of these keyboards at last?

So if you want features of previous models carried through then read the specs and decide which model suits your needs. When will you realise that the PA3X/300/600/900/3XLe are not cumulative upgrades to the PA2x/PA1/PA800/i3/i30.

Korg have been really great here and actually responded to the Fingered 3 request - but seriously please do not expect them to keep on adding all these so-called "missing" features. They are only missing if the keyboards' specs are not met.

PA3X is the best solution but, in fact, there are features on previous models that are NOT on the PA3X - but the PA3X matches its specifications just like the others in the range.

Pa300/600/900/3xLe - missing features

No, as you can read most of them are happy to get Fingered3 now - it was not in specs originally - only dropped with new product line.

Before model change to a successor style-features are not compared with specification-sheet only but also if proven features of previous model are continuing in next New Successor.

Please check - Pa3x has Fill-Mode, also Pa500 has it and each previous model before new product line - a reason to be disappointed until this is fixed.
kind regards

Now I upgraded my PA600 to V1.20 (I was using upgrade because I have some sounds in factory area that use RAM samples).

At first seems this upgrade was well: Booting is faster (V1.10 1´24 and v1.20 0´49).

My sounds (i think) are and sounds the same.
About other changes - i will try them.

What OS You have on Your KB? (You can find vers. in Media -> Utility on the lower side of the screen). For changing the OS detailed steps are in "Pa-Series OS Update (EFGISJ)".

New OS Ennquiry?

Post by patrickmagongo »

I do not want to risk my very nice sounding customized PA600 which I have just discovered the trick to getting it above Yamahas I know.

My question is, to those who have installed the new OS 1.2.I have already done a backup of my data somewhere else, does it change the sounds to better. Will the update option delete my data. Will it change my settings.I wanted to install it yesterday but I saw words delete in the guideline and I did not like that? What if I restore the original file and update on it and after I finish the process do restore resource for my customised stuff, will the update be effected in my stuff?
