As much as the snob in me doesn't want a "Casio" for a pro board, I have to say if it was a compelling product I would give them a chance.
With Yamaha and Roland doing so little the past few years we REALLY need another player to shake things up a bit.
Remember when there like 10 manufacturers to choose from for unique synths and workstations? Certainly miss those days! You can see what the dearth of competition has done for innovation lately.

I bought a WK1800 about 12 years ago. That keyboard is now with its 4th owner and still going strong currently doing duty in a church.Ksynth wrote:I have an old WK 1600 bought 12 years ago. Still runs without any issues.
I use it as a midi controller to play the 73 keys into Omnisphere and even into my Kronos 61 to extend the range for some Combis.
Love the fact that when I switch it on its available instantly. And the sounds are very nice - great for just quick noodling.
For about $300 its been an excellent buy. And the synth action keys are terrific.

I also will miss him ... he helped me in the beginning of developing PCG Tools with contact information.
Wish him good luck at Casio, though it is a loss for Korg.

Hi guys,
Thank you so much for your kind support. This wasn't an easy decision, as I will always be connected to Korg's products, people, and pioneering spirit. I'm very grateful to Korg USA and Korg Inc. for ten wonderful years. We parted ways with smiles and hugs, and I'm lucky that my coworkers have become lifelong friends.
I'm also grateful to all of you, for being such a great community full of knowledgeable and helpful folks. This forum made my work at Korg both easier and more challenging in almost equal measure, but it's always been rewarding, and a great benchmark for what Korg's customers want. I'm thankful for absolutely all of it… Although for my sanity, I will mention that there's now probably less reason to send me "Korg should make me this" messages.
This is a special place, and I'm certainly not abandoning my account. Talk to you all soon.
Thanks,
-Rich

Rich, you've been a class act at Korg and a great companion for our Kronos time as users so far!
I'm a little concerned that Korg Japan might be centralizing staff at home a bit too much nowadays. Korg USA is a key element to Korg's overall success IMHO (I say that as a German!), and they are not well advised to make strategic decisions without keeping that key element in full strength.
I wish you a new task which really satisfies you as positive challenge while working for Casio! They have some promising developments, waiting for someone like you to help to coordinate things to develop in a good way! All the best to you!
