Why did you buy a Kronos then anyway?mjames4208 wrote:I haven't turned on my Kronos in MONTHS! I only used it as a sound module anyway. I do intend on using it, but I alway find the sounds I'm looking for in software. As far as performing live, I use my XS8, A70, FantomXR, and Motif-Rack. I love my Kronos, but I'm done with workstations.
How much of the Kronos's Brain have you used?

Lol.... The same reason everybody else did.
It'll be put to work this summer, though.

NeKo LX5, Liquid Saffire 56, Motif XS8, Kronos61, A-70, Motif-Rack, FantomXR, MPC5000, R8mkii, Komplete5/6/7/8, Trilian, Total Workstation 2, EWQL Complete Composers Collection, Arturia Mini Moog V, CS-80V, ARP2600V, Jupiter-8V, Oberheim SEM-V, Analog Laboratory, Vienna Ensemble Pro, Yamaha Montage, Epic Orchestra, Flugelhorn, Sonar X2, FW-1884, MIDI Express 128, MPC Renaissance, MachFive3, Komplete 9 Ultimate, Korg Legacy Collection, Machfive 3, Jupiter-80, Moog Sub 37,
I think that depending on what the OP means by the post question "How much of the Kronos's Brain have you used?" the result could vary greatly !
If we take complex engines like AL-1, STR-1 or MOD-7 I think we can tweek a sound based on an already programmed one quite easily.
For instance by changing the filter aperture, enveloppes, effects etc.. But in my opinion this is not going in depth.
I took a plounge in mainly all the engines except MOD-7 and CX3.
But I can say that I only stayed at the surface for the complex ones.
I also imported some samples from AKAI CDs to play a bit with HD-1.
So even 20% seemed to me too much so I will say less than 10%.
May be another range from 5 to 10% should be added to the vote ?
Cheers.

Well if you haven't turned it on in months and you are done with workstations, I know a good home for it in The Netherlands. Seriously, let me know! I will even pay shipping as I want to add a second Kronos.mjames4208 wrote:I haven't turned on my Kronos in MONTHS! I only used it as a sound module anyway. That said, I really hope you DO use it. While software is cool, there is an insane amount of power within Kronos that softsynths frankly cannot touch.
Namaste,

Current gear: Kronos, Jupiter 80, Kurzweil PC3,Roland Fantom X8, Roland XV-88 (yep, its old, but the ACTION is heaven and those XV-3080 sounds are still wonderful for me), Radias-R, Motif ES (yeah it's older but I love the guitars
)
