Many thanks Busch!

Had actually bought OPX-PRO also for reasons of some of these classic patches, and sampled some of them using Extreme Sample Converter, but I will check yours out this evening!

Just loaded the sounds and am really happy with your library!
Thank you very much!

All patches are well done, and I especially liked the Collins Pad (extremely musical in context with leads), the Weather Report, Jan Hammer and Stevie Wonder patches, and the synth brass sounds in general!

I still think AL-1 is missing any analog warmth, and tends to sound a bit hard across the complete mid to high range. The KK shows MUCH more analog-like smoothness in that range. Among the analog prototypes, AL-1 works best when mirroring dry and/or resonant ARP sounds. In sounds with more closed cutoff the hard factor isn't too irritating though and AL-1 works well. And for the rest you truly made the best of it!

Another great Busch job - congratulations!

Dear Busch, congratulations again, and thank you also for suggesting the “Steal This Sound” book from Mitchell Sigman. I have downloaded it from the iBooks store.

P.S. Dear Jim, maybe AL-1 seems to be hard/irritating for you only because it's very clean and accurate by default? Using an oscilloscope, the AL-1 (in my OASYS) looks wonderful on screen, producing extremely high quality and precise waveforms.
Dan already showed in another thread how to model an analog (Moog-ish) filter using the AMS mixer. It would be great to know more about analog filter modeling in AL-1.

Dan was so kind to remind us of some of the possibilities recently. And it's fine that they exist, though they don't offer a very immediate program - music connection.
Anyway, I never heard AL-1 as warm and smooth as my Moogs, not even close with more open cutoff. Even the Kingkorg, which you use as well, offers a much more "musical" sound to me. I really get earbleed feelings listening to some AL-1 patches with quality headphones or studio monitor speakers.
That does not deny the great techical specs in any way.

Yes, I see a reference e to a book above! Is it a must read and will I learn more about synth sounds and programming from it?

Anyone remember the name of the AL1 thread? I forgot!

Thanks!

If I literaslly "don't get warm" with AL-1, that discussion should in no way overshadow my thankfulness for the great library Busch has written.

Thanks again, Bill!
And thanks for providing the links again, Akos!

Thanks all. I appreciate the kind words. I was unaware of that tutorial and made adjustments to Famous Synths V1.PCG. Two things I took away from the tutorial as it relates to AL-1 programing of the minimoog sound and analogs in general. A) Dan used more DRIVE and LOW BOOST than I had with those programs and B) the AMS filter manipulation does have an impact (big on some sounds, less on others).

Anyhow, I went through the programs again and applied these changes. PLEASE download this update V1a.

Again, Thank you BB.
There have been a ton of great suggestions but I'm leaning towards stuff more along these lines for vol #2. I hit some of the prog/fusion stuff in the first release. I would think an 80s bank would benefit a large number of players.

I can't get over how good Vol.1 is and your absolute generosity toward the members of this forum. I will admit that I'm a tad jelous of your programming talent and will patiently await Vol. 2 and will be more than glad to donate whatever funds you feel appropriate for your time. Thank you again.

Awesome set! Thanks! Just one question. Is there any way to set the latch to affect the pattern on the F key on Baba O'Reiley to keep repeating? Was thinking if I could just press it once and let it go and have it keep playing, then I would be able to play the piano chords with the left hand on another keyboard and keep the patterns going with the right. And thanks again. Some great patches in here!

Dave

Edit: Nevermind. Just figured it. Check the Hold box on PROGRAM P4:Basic/Vector (although it has weird results when playing the right hand-messes up the timing of the step sequence). Still tweaking :-)
