How to reduce speed of audio?

Post by Maralc »

Hi All,

I have some sequences with backing tracks setup with audio events as per Qui Robinez tutorials.

I need to slow down the audio in some backing tracks for practice. How to do that? I hope there is a way.

Thanks in advance.

I use riff station and have used amazing slow downer. There are some free apps I think and I think you could accomplish something similar with a DAW. Now if you are talking of slowing down audio, out of the Kronos, I do not know how without first loading them as a song into my computer.

The feature you're looking for is called time stretching, and specifically real-time time stretching. The Kronos doesn't do that. As was mentioned there are several app or computer based solution. Personally, for practice I use Transcribe! from www.seventhstring.com
It's affordable, easy to use and it's expressly designed for the purpose.

Not in real-time, but there is Time Stretching available in the dropdown menu of the LOOP EDIT page, in Sampling mode. For that you need to load your audio into RAM, which you can from the Song's Audio folder.

Also, check out the Sequencer's TRACK EDIT page. In the dropdown menu, there are Time Stretch functions in the "Copy Song's Tempo To Region" and "Adjust Region To Song's Tempo" selections. Check the onboard HELP on how to use these.

Keep your original SNG file safe and don't overwrite it, when you experiment.
