How do you play?

Post by Yipsiotis »

I would really like to know how other people ar using their pa...

Would be great to see how you use the interface, what sounds, and styles you use for what songs..

Thinking of uploading a video, would be nice...

Anybody done this?

You have go and search on YouTube, is many of videos there.
As me I like to use fully my Pa600, including midi in/out support to other devices and DAWs.
here is one of video I am playing with support other midi controllers.
Bottom keyboard (Akai MPK49) is controlling Upper 3 sound from Pa600, other small Alesis QX25 is controlling DAW 2 layers sounds with sync clock coming from arranger.

I use it for songwriting when I need a bass track or background track.

The chord recorder is great to try a progression across a lot of styles to find what I need.

Sometime I use it as slave for DAW but most of the time I just solo an instrument and record it.

I'm not a keyboard player but I bang on chords.

Bit off topic.
@Nemik, I can hear that you have very nasty ground loop issue. You have to work that out.
I've just subscribed to your channel BTW.

You right, this recording (audio) was on Adobe Audition CS6 and I have some issue with some noise, also I overdo high frequency  .but this was on very beginning when I was using cheap unbalanced cable and didn't have good monitors.
Now I changed all my cable for good quality balanced, got Presonus Studio Active Monitor and can finally hear all unwanted noises and filtered them down.
Also now I do recording on stand alone Digital Recorder Tascam DP-008EX, don't have to deal with sound cards and else. :)
Thinking to buy one day better mixer, maybe PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2AI, but...... not yet.
I have long, very long wish list :3dshocked:

I use mine in praise and worship at church . I also use it for song writing and production. I support various choirs in the Birmingham area of the UK . I use the Korga Pa1X arranger in real time as an ordinary keyboard with other live musicians. I can add in drums or bass or whatever is need. In the example below I had a live bass player and saxophonist. He was very unwell in the clip below and it turned out he had the mumps !!! anyway in the excample below I used just the keys and drums and light strings like this :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJnGyIf0ozQ

or in full arranger mode with some like this with a group of singers

for example like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lubAqrhzzxo

or I sequence entire songs using the internal sequencer and use it for rehearsals with my group like this :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PluPIFtAM48

or performance like this :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9yBtuaAopY

I hope this helps

Thanks Eduardo

I will let the band know you appreciate our work .

I would love to see and hear other members show how they make music on their instruments . It's great to talk about features of our instruments and what we would like them to have but nothing beats actually using them and sharing the joy of music . I wish more members would have a little courage and share their music too . That would be brilliant !

Hi Worth:

First, your band sounds really great, and as i allways try to say the true, my opinion is absolutelly sincerious.-

About why a big number of member don't publish at least some minutes of how the play or sound his keyboard, is IMHO because all of them ( me included ) have's a high degree of timidity.- Just that.- More over, in some cases when you hear some demos (official or unnofficial ones) you notice that they have 20 fingers instead of 10.

You are right, all of us could have a better idea of what we could get from our keyboards, and show another way to enjoy music.-

Again, congratulations to you and all your members band.-
Wirh regards.

I use it at home only, just for fun for myself and sometimes a small (family) audience.
I play with styles only (never with midi-files) and I try to add a personal note to the songs I play. So I'm not trying to play exact copies of existing songs, but give them a bit of a twist. For instance I can play a rock ballad song as a swing ballad or the other way around, or even a 4/4 song as a waltz. I like to experiment with the (solo) instruments also, mute/unmute tracks, experimenting with different FX and so on and so forth. It's just a great way to relax and play... with my headphones on I'm in a completely different world / space and I have to remind myself that I need a drink sometimes and have some sleep also... Best hobby there is, and with Korg PA's, it's never boring and there's always something new to discover! :D :D :D
Musical grtz, Frans

Play in style. ;)
