HELP: Can I turn MIDI output off for specific tracks?
Anyway, I suspect the answer is no, but my perimeter guide is MIA. I am trying to sequence my Micro X with the ES2 and it is getting tiresome going into the Micro X's multis and turning off incoming MIDI for different channels. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Not possible, unless you've got some sort of midi filter in between the two boxes.sauce wrote:Anyway, I suspect the answer is no, but my perimeter guide is MIA. You can get the parameter guide here:

Dude, Musicmagus answered the question, it's not possible. Sauce mentioned he lost his parameter guide, and pygmy posted a link....how much straighter does it need to be?mijaba wrote:It's too much trouble to give a straight answer but it's NOT too much trouble to post a link?
The dude was asking for HELP.
I can't find the answer in the parameter guide. It doesn't say if you can or can not.
Sauce, Pick one of these up

Same price as the MIDI solutions filter, but is also a 2x2 MIDI to Copperlan interface. I bought the larger AL88c and will be adding a second. you can read my thread about it on Livepa. Actually if you plan on having more midi gear get the AL88c it's worth the money...
You can use it to route only certain channels to the micro x. It does not allow filtering of CC's and such but for your purpose I think it will work fine. Also once configured it will work standalone and the config is stored in the device.
Or I have a motu DTP or MTP I could give you cheap if money is an issue....

An Arduino+MIDI shield would be much cheaper, and do a lot of the other custom stuff badly needed for the electribe2 (filter, rechannelize, clock). There are MIDI sketches and tutorials all over the place.thesigma wrote:Sauce, Pick one of these up

My electribe2 lousy patterns and stuff | KORG gear: NTS-1, nanoKEY2, electribe2/2S, WS/SR, WS/EX (on storage)
Sure would but I've found that If I want something in a hurry, I better just buy an off the shelf product. My DIY projects tend to drag out....Poumtschak wrote:An Arduino+MIDI shield would be much cheaper, and do a lot of the other custom stuff badly needed for the electribe2 (filter, rechannelize, clock). Plus you'd need to add a power supply and case to have a road worthy unit, not to mention the networking aspect of coperlan makes it a pretty great MIDI interface for the money. I definitely think the AL-88c is the best value in MIDI ports per dollar, plus functionality.
All said the arduino could still be done for under $50 in parts with a case and all, plus some time and effort.
I have a few arduinos but don't follow the developments too closely, is there a multiport MIDI shield? the ones I've seen are all 1 in 1 out.
Thanks, guys.. I appreciate the help.
Anyway, I'm swearing off buying new gear for at least a week, so instead I am building a Multi-template for the Micro X and saving it in the first user slot. This template will have all incoming channels muted except 5, 6, 7 and 8, which will be the channels I will be sequencing on from the ES2. I will also have a "performance" channel which I can play on the keys if I feel fancy-free.
