SAMPLE HELP PLEASE

Post by richyrich »

Hi, I have loaded lots of samples and assigned them to specific keys in a song, i have saved the samples in disk mode and then in global mode i have chose the KSC file to auto load.

When i restart it works fine..... Then when i decide to load a totally different sample and assign it to a key ... i want to save it and add it to all the other samples what i have created......but i cant seem to figure that bit out.

does anyone have this problem,, i hope i explained it properly

First load the collection you want to work on with the "clear all" checkbox enabled. Add any samples you want using "append". Resave your collection with the same name. Don't force a new ID.

Thanks for the reply, i had a go at it and this is what i am doing but cant seem to get it right.

1: Load KSC from disk ( with clear all set)

2: Load sample i want to add

3: make into Multisample and rename it to what i want

4: Convert Sample to program

5: save program

6: save sample data (ALL) with both sampling mode and links SAME NAME AS KSC

When and how do i use the APPEND option?
at the end of this i want it to keep all the samples i have loaded before and keep adding them at later dates

Please advise where i am going wrong. its driving me crazy

Step one needs to be with "clear all" enabled so that you have ONLY the collection you want to work on in memory. This so that you don't end up saving a whole bunch of other stuff in there.

During step two, the new samples you load, you'll need to use "append" in the loading dialog. This so that you add to the collection you previously loaded. Now when you've finished your edits, you do save all sampling data and overwrite the old collection.

All this is in the manual too somewhere, with examples.
