Korg Kronos 2 Platinum Limited edition

Post by Kontrol49 »

I'm guessing this is going to be Shown at this years namm as I've not seen this before or am I late to the party and its been out a while??,not seen anything on Korg site about it so presuming its a new release, not sure if I like the Look of it or not, think I prefer the Black casing.

It kind of looks like a Triton with a color screen. :D It is sexy, but so far, I like the black casing and wood panels the best.

If this is a real new Kronos, i think Korg is not working hard these days! This is not an evolution? The Kronos has not evolved much since its debut in 2011. We need a much more powerfull cpu unit with a much capable ram powered. The program banks most grow even because they get full easily.

It's not a new model,it's a Limited edition of the current Kronos 2,from the specs I suspect everything else is the same internally just simply a different colour scheme.

Yes it does kind of have that Trinity/Triton Esque appeal to it,I'd perhaps like it more if there was a 61 Key version,it would look a bit more appealing to the eye I'm not a fan of the larger key models.

Ooh I like the look of that: but if it's like the finish on the Triton/Trinity I found they got really grubby from fingers around the buttons etc after a while!

you know what I would love? A kronos with the black/red keys (or reversed keys) like they had with the SV1. Or at least a retrofit kit for mine.

One advantage something like this would have is that it's likely that the silkscreened text on the panel will be easier to read. Other than that, I prefer the black.

LOL. Except for the OS updates. And all their other new products. Maybe you can offer to work for them ? ;)

The wood panels on the side are made of ebony, apparently, so it's still wooden. :P
I like the look of it.

It's on their website.
No other spec changes than the new housing.

I love the black casing and I constantly find myself staring at my K in awe, but if I were in the market for a new Kronos (and had the extra money), I'd definitely get this plantium-colored model. Sexy beast!

I think it looks great, for awhile, but I think it would get on my nerves after a short amount of time.
