where to buy styles?
I'd like to start again on my PA3x. But I still can't get excited about certain styles on there. Can you tell me where to go to BUY styles. I listened to the Musikant styles and Jurgen Sartorius on Youtube. I'd love to have those, but my understanding is they don't translate well to the American version.
I definitely need......
cha-cha rhumba tango Strauss type waltz (among others I could use)

Have you checked out the styles from the previous Korg arranger models?
For example, if you put them all together there are several different cha-chas.
i-series arranges had some very high quality styles. PA1x, PA2x, PA588, PA800.
Plus there are all 23 volumes of free high quality Korg styles in the bonus section on Korg's website.
This website might help you too.... http://www.createsongstyles.com
Cheers

Hi Pete,
I thought about that after I posted. I've already downloaded everything off the Korg Bonusware page, including the '23 volumes.' Plus wherever I can find them and friends sent me different model styles.
So let me ask you. My understanding is that the PA3x will work with the following:
Pa3XLe........Pa900 …..Pa600 …..Pa600QT …..Pa300 .......HAVIAN 30 .....and you said: the i-series PA1x, PA2x, PA588, PA800
Is there any other Korg machines it's compatible with? Is there a listing online?
Are the PA3xLE styles different from the PA3x?
Can I use the MicroArranger styles?
And..........most important.......the Musikant. I'd be a happy camper if I could use them (PA3x Musikant). But.....the instruments don't "map" correctly? Is that right?
I spent the day on my 3x and it's not my imagination. I just don't "feel" a lot of what's on there. The Latin styles are also "lacking."
If all else fails, I'm going to have to look at the Ketron.
Can you give me answers to those questions above, Pete or anyone?
Thanks
Marcus

Hi Marcus
Completely understand where you are coming from.
In this maze of current musical technology, one's life is a mass of learning curves.
I am actually going through a deep re-evaluation of my gear to "cull and keep" and really get to grips with what I have (currently too much!!)
Still wading my way through my awesome Kronos!!
Anyhow, there is a Korg Styles store but I don't recommend it really.
Creating your own styles is not going to be easy and will involve learning curves and time!!!!
It may or may not help but strangely the different PA models within a specific range do have some different styles (e.g. the PA2XPro and PA588).
I am guessing also the PA900 and PA3X and PA3XLE.
I know you've listed some genres but if you have any specifics, I am happy to look through what I have or package up some styles for you to look through.
Cheers

Hi Pete,
I've Just heard PA500; is there PA588?
It would be great if you could share with me package of Pa2xPro and Pa588 so I can go through, I also need similar styles as Marcus does.
Thanks
Quy

Please give me a couple of days (sorry) - overload of work at the present.
Please chase me up with a PM if you don't hear from me by Friday.
Thanks

Hi Marcus,
I purchased the Muzikant set for my Pa3x. They give you a wide selection. I don't recall if all the Pads were assigned sounds. You would have to do that yourself.
On Ebay and on line there is a company based on Long Island "Lamios Style Libraries" They sell Vol. 1-4 and one Premier Set. They're very good. Also on Ebay, I purchased a Pop set and a Rock Set from a gentleman in Australia. I found them to be really good.
Hope that helps
Frank

Thanks, Pete but I need so many I wouldn't want to put you through that. I have a lot already that I didn't realize I had. I'll browse through what I have when I can get some time.karmathanever wrote: I know you've listed some genres but if you have any specifics, I am happy to look through what I have or package up some styles for you to look through.

Frank......did the Musikant work with the PA3x and few tweaks? My understanding was the European styles wouldn't match the American PA3x. Right? Wrong? One of the members here says his works just fine.fjs714 wrote: I purchased the Muzikant set for my Pa3x. They give you a wide selection.

Frank......thanks for your input but I couldn't find them. But you turned me onto Ebay styles which I wasn't aware of. It seems everyone on the planet is making money making them.
But......as I recall, Antony said you're "playing with fire" with these third-party styles...that they could crash your operating system.
I've never seen it so difficult trying to be a musician these days!
