A quite uncanny Cubase/SQ-1 USB sync problem

Hello everyone, glad to be a part of the community! Hope someone instructs me on what I'm doing wrong.

Even though Cubase recognizes the SQ-1, for some unfathomable reason it won't send the start signal and that makes the sequencer quite unusable in my studio environment. What could be the reason of this unruly behavior? Of course, I can still sequence the MS20Mini via it's own USB connection, but that's not truly satisfying now I bought this wonderful and crazy box.
