d16 v2 HD to SD card mod not working

read few guides online on upgrading harddrive to card reader for KORG d16 v2 recorders.
got an ide to sd card adapter. recorder says 'no drive' found. I reformatted the card on the computer. still doesn't see it.
what did I miss ?
