I watched the promo video of the Pyramid not long after launch, and wasn't blown away by it, but have since seen a handful of other presentations that have made the thing look somewhat more interesting. It offers intriguing opportunities for real time control, and complex beat structures but is, as you say, quite expensive. It also lacks a downloadable user manual, which would be useful for off-grid use.
