I switched from a Kurzweil PC3K6 to a Kronos 2 61 and am working to get everything setup op par with the PC3K6. My goal is to get better piano's, ditch my laptop for backingtracks and use the setup to have quicker changes live.
For this I still have a few questions, hope someone can help me with those:
- I sampled a piano sound from my great Yamaha CVP piano, but the soundfont is a bit low on volume, I tried to compensate in the HD-1 program, but could only find a trick with a limiter set to 1:1, I want to have this in the program itself as i'll be using combis and don't want to at this limiter to all. Using the Drive parameter works but it also changes the sound (adds a ring).
- There is another reason why I don't want to add an IFX in the combi: I play/control the piano from a midi controller. without an IFX I can use GMReverb CC to change the reverb. Is this possible when a IFX is used to conrol the send to MFX 2 from an external midi controller?
- Can I control EQ parameters (from the combi or IFX) from a external midi-controller? (I want to control low/high from 2 sliders to add this on the fly) I tried to find a solution for this, but did not find one. Similar for a compressor.
- I use the comment field in the setup to have some chord displayed, but after some reshuffeling in the PCG Tools the chords are changed (some lines removed), it still looks okay in the PCG tools. Any idea wath happend there?
Thanks!!!

Almost, I used Extreme Sample Converter and tested the max velocity to be around -3 dB, perhaps A little bit too low. I was assuming that I could better be safe than sorry and adjust for this in the sampler.
I worked with Kontakt and there it is easy to adjust a few dB....
I checked and used the normalize function with ESC as far as I could see.
for now I use the Drive a little bit to compensate.
