Why should I update.

Post by byllsong »

I have had my Kross for a while now.
What benefits will I get from an update.
I basically use it to record Piano, Bass & Drums.

I guess it depends on what your update would be.
Larger Kross? Krome? Kronos?

Edit to update question...

What I mean is Korg is offering an update to the Kross software.
My question is, do I need it, and if so why.
What will I get with the update to make me want to download it?

Probably just bug fixes. Worth the download.

I only did the update as I had a known bug using it on my Mac with Logic Pro X in El Capitan.
The Kross would not talk to the Mac unless I booted it with the Kross powered up and connected first. If I unplugged the Kross, and plugged it in again, I would have to reboot my mac again to talk to it. It was listed in Korg's compatibility issues pdf. Something in the way the old Kross firmware communicated which the latest Mac OS broke. I had been waiting for the update to fix this, so it was welcome.
However if it had not been for that I may not have been in a hurry to update.
As there was no other bugs I had noticed.

I had no problems updating whatsoever by the way. Only took a minute!

Kross v1.0.4 firmware update

Post by korgkross61 »

I have an 8GB SD card that came with Korg Kross 61 purchase that had Indian tones/rhythms and also bought a 32GB SDHC card. How to format it to MS-DOS in windows 7 ultimate 64-bit OS ? I only find NTFS/Fat32/exFAT options when I right-click on the drive and select Format. 'Create MS-DOS Startup Disk' option is not available for selecting/checking off. The Korg firmware update PDF says to format MS-DOS disk and copy to root of that afterwards. I am not able to format to MS-DOS in the first place. Do I have to update the Kross system software to v1.0.4 ? If yes, then I'm stuck until I get over this formatting hurdle. Can someone help how they did it on Windows 7 64bit Ultimate OS ?

i would suggest formatting your new card on your kross. that guarantees that your kross will recognize the card later. ;)
