Volca FM and Retrokits RK-002 Midi cable

Today my Retrokits RK-002 cable arrived in the post. After a bit of a play around with the Volca Sample (all working fine). I decided to upload the Volca FM firmware and try out the velocity mapping. I can't seem to get it to work though.

I followed the directions on the website uploading using webMIDI. The firmware loaded 100% and I got a reassuring sound from the volca FM. However when I chose MIDI channel 1 (which the VolcaFM is set to) it plays a sound, and then select "velocity" it makes a sound to let me know the option has been changed but it doesn't work. When I play a key it only shows the "dec" value changing not the velocity.

I'm using the latest version v36 from the website. Anyone else got it working? My MIDI keyboard is fairly basic but I checked and it has velocity. It's a Novation Remote 25 le.

Any ideas?
