All flash drives and usb connection show as write protected

Hi, I would like to upgrade the software from 1.1 to 1.2 but need to do a full resource backup of all my changes. But I'm finding that ANY flash drive I insert and try to write on gets the write protected message from the PA600. And the PA600 will not sometimes even recognize my inserting a flash drive. I may have to do a factory reset but really need to do a full backup. I tried the Save function with a .set file, but it shows write protected as well with the flash drives.
I have checked and taken off any potential write protect on each flash drive using the cmd and regedit functions so I realy don't thing the flash drives are the problem. I can write files to each of them with my computer. Even a brand new flash drive got the same write protect message.
I am assuming computer hookup will only transfer midi files and not do full resource backup.
So bottom line. How can I get a full resource backup with flash drives being considered write protected by PA600? I want to then put new version software on after backup. Thanks, pretty confused at this point.

Hi there. First time I see problems with update but I will try to help you.
If u want to make backup as set:
1.Turn of media protection
2.Go media and press Save and save all
3.Save it on korg disk.
4.Put usb flash drive
5.Go media
6.Press Copy
7.Change on Korg disk and select that file u want to copy
8.Press copy to and choose usb.

If u want to update system
1.Turn off your instrument
2.Press and hold intro1 + power button till you see:System update.
3.Choose that file.
As i understand you want to create backup set because you don't want to lose your own styles/sounds right?
When i updated to 1.20 I had my own styles and sound.Update didn't delete them, but it's good to have a backup
