padKontrol problems - broken?

Post by MrDuke »

I've had my padKontrol for almost 10 years (bought in 2007), and I've happily used it to play drum and beat-making plug-ins like MOTU's BPM. I love the feel of the pads.

I've used it with a power supply, a Roland 9V charger originally meant for a one of their MIDI keyboards, and it's worked fine until now. Now pK won't turn on at all from the DC side.

I initially thought it was the power supply so I bought another (generic) one, but it still doesn't work.

The USB power method works, but it seems to also have some issues - pK flickers and goes on and off. I think it might have actually always had them, I've just never noticed them because I rarely used USB power.

Any ideas what's wrong?
