Can the step sequencer be used similarly to rppr ?
I was thinking on getting the kross 61 and I have just realized that it doesn't have rppr. I thought the sequencer was the same as the one on my m50 (88).
Is there a way to do a similar thing using the step sequencer ?
Thanks !

Hi,
The answer is NO.
The step sequencer can only be used to compose easily a drum pattern (apart from the drumtrack). You can switch on/off steps of the different instruments (kick, hihat, snare, clap, ...) easily with the buttons. The step sequencer can not AKAIK be used to enable/disable notes in a melody part.
The arpeggiator is quite flexible and could be misused to mimic RPPR with limitations. Meaning you can program a (simple) melody in it that can be triggered by holding one key. In combi mode, you can make use of 2 arpeggiators and assign them to 2 keys. But that's it. So far from a real RPPR functionality like in your M50.
Bye.

Oh ...
I found these

Could anybody tell me how it is done ? I couldn't find it on the kross manual (even though i don't have a korg kross yet). I think that it's pretty similar to rppr, or at least it would be enough for what i need.
Thank you very much !

Hi,
The second video is not about a Korg Kross.
First video is. So how does it work? I'm not sure, but here is my bet.
1. It is a custom drumset that is created. A drumset allows setting up a sample per key.
2. It is a definitely a combi. The custom drumset is used in the combi.
Now this does not look in line with my previous post where I said that it is not possible.
It is not possible in the sense that the Kross does not allow to upload new samples to be used in a drumkit. It can also not use audio snippets that you would have recorded using the Kross. I'm not sure that what is heard in the video are standard samples available in the Kross...
Well that is the official part. On YouTube there are some videos circulating in Spanish/Portugese where people upload their custom samples in the Kross. Your first video seems to fit in that story as it also posted by a guy with a Spanish/Portugese sounding name... Most likely this guy uploaded as well its own samples and assigned them to a custom drumset.
I do not understand the language in these sample upload videos. To me, it is an undocumented feature of the Kross and officially not supported by Korg either, figured out by accident by someone. It is even not sure whether it may destroy original samples in the Kross, leave alone that you can get them back afterwards. So uploading custom samples may be risky and has to be handled very carefully.
