4X Changes
Recently upgraded from a 2XPro.
See that the "Display Hold" button is gone. OK as a Global setting but would like to see "Display Hold" as an assignable switch or pedal choice also.
Also see that ability to delete individual styles, sounds, etc. is gone. Probably OK with Direct Set access now available but would like to be sure I'm not just missing something. Has this feature really been eliminated?
And last, my 4X came without a hard copy of the full user manual. Was it is missing or is this the new norm?

You didn't miss the Big Book, I didn't get one with mine and I assume that the PA4X only ships with the .pdf version ..... it is 1074 pages long so no surprise but personally I would prefer a printed version.Ron wrote:I did get the full user manual on disk but I miss the big book!

I realize there is a growing cost-cutting trend toward "soft" manuals. However, I don't like having to consult my PC or some other device whenever I need info.
I realize the manual can be printed from the pdf and I am glad your method works for you but I am not impressed having to spend another +/-$100 to print and bind info that I feel should have been provided.
I think Korg had it right when they included a printed (full) user manual and soft copy of the Advanced Edit Manual but since they chose to make it all into one, it should have been included.
The printed quick start guide might be appropriate for first time users but I think most people purchasing this keyboard are not novices. The money (for the quick guide) would have been better spent toward a full printed manual in my opinion.

Exactly why I had the full manual printed and spiral bound, far easier to work with in context with the instrument in front of you or when you sit back with a coffee and read. Skimping this is
Yamaha S90ES, Korg Triton Pro, EXB Moss, Roland XV5080, Korg EX8000, Korg Pa4x 76, Korg Kronos 88, Crumar MOJO, Logic Pro X, V Collection, Novation SL61,Vienna, Korg Pa4x , EC-5, Vienna, Arturia V Collection, Roland SC88 Pro, Roland D110, Alesis SR16, Alesis D4
I recently printed mine and am beginning to wish I'd used a lighter grade of paper .... it's huge, almost 3 inches thick. I'm going to bind it in seperate sections and just deciding which sections to bind together.
I find the pdf manuals useful for a quick look at something specific but hard to read for any length of time and even worse when you have to go back to refer to another section before continuing.
I can understand why they wouldn't include a printed version for the sheer size of it, most other hardware/software comes in the electronic format nowadays and it make for easy updates. I have always printed mine out for my own convenience.

I created a song entry in my UnRealbook and Forscore Libraries so I always have my manual with me on a gig. I also created similar entries for my mixer, contracts, etc. Those applications allow me to search and find things FAST. I can create bookmarks, etc.
All my fakebooks, music books, and sheet music are in PDF form.
It doesn't make sense in this age to use so much paper. I am very mindful of my carbon footprint.
