3rd party Commercial a lot of Styles Packs Reality !

Post by AntonySharmman »

Happy new 2017 to all ...

The common sense says that a brand new style requires hours to be created from an expert Musician with deep knowledge
in arrangment and section instruments and the lower cost of each one is from 6 up to 15 $ according to required job and the
complexity level of style genre.
So make yourself wonder what is in fact a style pack over 100 styles for all Pa models  !

IMO with 45 $ you can buy 5 to 8 brand new styles and this is my first 2 cents since the most important thing of all is :
where those resources were made ? In a i30,Pa80,Pa800 and legacy banks ?
You've bought a Pa4X with an extraordinary streaming from disk sound library and you will use poor libraries of 2000 that
exist there only for compatibility reasons ?
It's obvious that the same applies to commercial PaSeries sound resources !

A 3rd party proffesional style developer among others , should have totally different resources for each Pa model and also
packs with external PCM resources for section Musical instruments when Pa model do not offer the sufficient sound resources
to support a Pro/Studio Style ...
That's the basic reason that I've never distributed standalone Styles among my commercial packs !

Again my thoughts loudly for anybody that is interested !

GREAT & THANKS ANTONY!!!!!

I've been trying to explain to a colleague who has just bought a PA4X to stop buying all these "STYLE" packs for the very reasons you have explained.

Some of these are so bad too!!!!

Anything that says "compatible on all Korg PA arrangers" is going to sound pretty rough on a PA4X!!!!

Buy carefully

Cheers

Pete , it's commonly known even to the most ignorant arranger users that copying factory styles and official bonus releases
of PaSeries models of last 20 years and sell them as bundle packs , doesn't make anyone a style developer but rather a
scumbag that cheats people whatever the price is !
For the relevant issue of "sound developers" of shared for 20 years PCM resources , I've already commented in a recent post !

By the way , I'd like to underline at newbies and amateur Musicians the great difference between a song/song style
and a general purpose style of a specific rhythm kind , that in first sight they look close !
- A song can be easily managed by any average Musician with skilled ears , since he has just to copy instruments
notes of composer and create a sequenser or style with no further imagination or skills.
- Unlike the general purpose Style for example "Shuffle Funk" or "16 Beat Pop Ballad" , must serve many different songs
the creator must be almost a composer with deep knowledge of all basic rhythmic intruments that will use , all tracks
melodic instruments phrases should not be copied from specific songs either remind them , but orchestrated in the
same genre form that must be very aware of , for every track instrument , in order all similar songs can be played
without rhythmic conflicts , creating different accents & expression variations that will "catch up" similar songs !

This is the very difficult role that arranger brand developers have to complete among Sound Libraries , in Factory Styles
Banks , hiring very experianced and talended Musicians/Directors to create so many different genre of realistic styles
and fulfill the needs of an average user , and still not be the real succesors !
Therefore this kind of job is IMHO very rare to be found in 3rd-party Style sellers outside Korg store and especially
when they distribute more than 50 styles per pack !

Thanks for reading !

It would be nice if your question was the only one or at least one among 20 users !!!
