Question re "The New Kronos Sound Pack"

Post by karmathanever »

Hi guys

Yes I know this is old now but would love your views please.
I have the original Kronos-61 with latest OS, 3GB RAM and 2 x SSD drives plus some purchased KAPro etc.. all running beautifully.
I probably do not get as deep technically into this beast as most of you and would just like a little bit of feedback/thoughts please.

I am considering getting the "New Kronos Sound Pack" that was offered at the release of the KK2 and having listened and watched youtubes of it etc..etc..
It's going to cost me about Aus$350 - not really cheap for me.
I am not a pianist and hence would not be over-excited about the Berlin Grand as such (although it sounds great and I am sure it is superb)
so that leaves me with the rest of this sound pack to consider for my Aus$350.....

Is it worth getting do you think?

Cheers

here's some analysis.

You are essentially paying for:

• EXs18 KORG EXs Collections
• KRS-07 Sound Pack 3.0

The EXs18 is excellent. Or listen to the demo

The KRS07 was mostly authored by Burning Bush, FWIR. His version might be free at his Purgatory Creek site

The Epic Grand is really good and it's the best piano sound to my ears that Korg offers although you can get it thru K- Sounds. The EX 18's are really good also an mentioned above. Since you mentioned you were basically a piano player I thought I would mention the Epic Grand.

I looked through the pack on PC and it doesn't appear to have the EP and Organ sounds :(

One day I'll drop the $249 to get the rest....
