Grand total of $85, which included the $35 it cost of initial inspection.

Lol, fair shot.

Anyhow apparently there were pieces actually missing internally. I’ll get more info when I pick it up but when I go in to pay I’ll get the full break down.

One thing that struck me as odd is the complete lack of interest I’ve had after listing this. I listed it for sale with the issue at $1200 which IMO is still a ridiculous price even with four broken notes since everything else works perfectly fine. I still got pushback and offers as absurd as $900.

I’d have bought it for $1200 with a completely broken keybed without questions since the worst case scenario was getting a second midi keyboard to play notes. Sure it would have been an oversized sound module but all the other features are still worth more than $1200.

Its not odd. No one or very few want to pay their good money for some one's headache. Something faulty for $50 might be worth a shot, but not $1200

As a rough analogy, I am shopping for a used MacBook Pro. Their is 1 with a crispy battery and no one wants it. and who can say what else is trashed on it. Of course the seller offers no guaranty.

I am in macbook pro hell.

Mid 2010 ->flawed motherboard and click on trackpad - can work around both but....

2012 13" Macbook Pro - trackpad click bad

2012 13" Macbook Air - water was dropped in it. Completely gone.

2012 Retina - LCD mysteriously cracked.

2015 Retina - Bought last June - Battery takes 13 hours to charge and under programming use test - constant compiles - it lasts 1hr 40 mins.

Then I found my receipt for the 2012 Retina - $3296!!!!!! That's like $65/month until now.

wow, what a run you have had. I would not touch the air or retina since I think they are not upgradeable. Anyway we should stay on topic with the o/p

Thanks

Please don't take this as "gloating" because it really isn't and I really feel for you. But I always get a little puzzled and upset when I read a horror story like that and the next day someone is recommending Apple to an unwitting Windows user "because Macs never have issues".

I stand by my creed: all computers suck.

Yes, I have no choice, I am an Apple developer. There is only one computer that I can get. Maybe one day I will go back to Windows but not yet.

I should point out I was very happy with the Macbook Air and the 2012 is a great machine - except for the LCD.

As for the OP, very reasonable cost!
