Haha - thanks indirectly for the programming plug.hand solo wrote:This is supposedly a classic DX-7 sound...also on "Shake You Down" by Gregory Abbott and many 80s songs....did a search here, thought for sure somebody would've hit up Enigmahack for it. No luck.

Well, do you know if it's a stock program in the DX7? If it was used by a bunch of people, it probably was.hand solo wrote:Thanks Enigma ! I'm not worthy ! Will peruse these..in the meantime using a stock Kronos harmonica program...but it's just not the same.
Just a little bit of google-fu lead me to this:hand solo wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPjR2iO0ipI
here is what i'm looking for...
maybe it's listed as Harmonica in the DX-7 patch list ? I'm sorry, not familiar with Yamaha OS.
Just the syx files. Then you can load them like a pcg filehand solo wrote:there is a folder , ROM 2, with multiple items..
ROM2A.LIB
ROM2A.mid
ROM2A.syx
ROM2A.VBk
ROM2B.LIB
ROM2B.mid
ROM2B.syx
ROM2B.VBk
do they all have to be loaded on the flash drive ?
Awesome! Glad you were able to find it! (Also a good tidbit of info for future travellers needing that sound)hand solo wrote:tried loading ROM2a.syx into an open bank, User DD, and got message
"there is no readable data"
....then, tried it again, and it worked...thanks ! Harmonica 1, #17 is the one
I'm looking for....yay !
Sure thing man.hand solo wrote:Hay Enigmahack.....loaded up the sample in my "Shake You Down" combi, sounds great ! bump up the gain and add a little verb, you're good to go.
looks like the flute in the opening measures of "What's love got to do with it" is also a DX-7 patch...maybe "ROM 3A #1 Flute " in the Yamaha system..have you by chance seen that floating around the net ?
cheers mate
