UPGRADE – Triton Rack to Pa4X
Hello,
I have a very old home studio comprising a Korg Triton Rack, a Digi001 Interface with Pro Tools LE, a cheap keyboard midi controller, a couple of Behringer Truth speakers and an old PC running XP. Pretty much a museum.
I was about to bin the lot and upgrade to a Pa4X, an Apple iMac, with Pro Tools software and interface.
But, as the Triton Rack still produces good sounds do you think I should keep it, or will I find similar sounds in the new Pa4X?
Or is that just a very silly question?
Thanks for any tips,
John

Hello John,
I would keep the triton if i really liked the sounds that much!
I personally have kept my roland xp50 (1995 workstation) and the roland mks70 (1987-88 DCO analog synth) even after i recently bought a fantom XR which should be theoretically better that the 2 older models but isn't able to reproduce the exact or better result from the sounds i needed and liked so much and so i have kept it for its own role in the setup..
I would never give out my trusty gear.
