What Analog Hard Synth to go with Kronos ?

Monophonic or polyphonic?
I love my Waldorf pulse 2 with Kronos. Which is primarily mono or paraphonic . Easy to tweak with great arpeggiator , though the Oscs are DCO.

I added a Moog Minotaur and Karp two sounds I couldn't quite nail in the Kronos but with Kronos you can get very close. If I had the cash a monologue or for me letter yet and DSI OB6. Mostly personal taste so your answers will be all over. What sound are you looking for perhaps a VST/AU would give you the versatility you seek, like omnisphere2?

I've been playing synths since 1971- ain't no one never made a good copy of that Moog sound yet. There's just something so alive about it.

Pretty much everything else is bread-and-butter synth sounds done ad nauseum, and repeatable on most modern-day synths, but the Moog is a sound all to itself.

While not exactly "analog", the V-synth XT is a perfect fit - virtual analog, one of the best vocal processors, and all the D50 patches your heart desires.

I think the first thing to ask is, "How much are you willing to spend?"

This can narrow the field down considerably. I really like the look and from what I've hear so far, the sound of the Dave Smith Prophet 16 rev2. Also the Arturia Matrixbrute.

-Moog Voyager / Minitaur; (yes) an actual Korg MS-20m (something about the real deal); Access Virus Ti2; Omnisphere 2.

The Moogs and a real MS-20m sound fabulous with the Kronos. Although the Virus and Omnisphere don't count as true analog, they equally sound very complimentary with the Kronos. The Kronos has such a wonderfully refined sound, that anything with some grit can be blended just fine, providing it's done judiciously (analog can overpower digital sometimes- with the Moogs', especially.)

Just a few thoughts:

It bothers me when improperly defined and misunderstood adjectives are used to describe an instrument. It causes one to believe there is some legitimate reason(s) for a decrease in value of an instrument and what it can provide. It very well may be somewhat true, however, it doesn't mean it doesn't have a reasonable value. Digital may not perfectly emulate true analog (not that it needs to, although it comes fairly close), because it has its own value. In the case with the Kronos (relating to the 'Korg' sound as some others try to describe sometimes), it can sound 'digital'/cold/lifeless (not to me) or whatever. (By the way, I'm NOT trying to rehash any OLD arguments because they're moot points to me.) This is only to say, when making music, everything is a tool and at the very least somewhat useful. The above, to me, are extremely complimentary and sound fantastic together as a whole. Analog (and real acoustic instruments, as well) compliments digital, which is why I chose the above instruments for a more well-rounded sound palette that also sound GREAT with the Kronos!!

You see, I got into music to make good music, not to have any one instrument serve for any lack of apparent self-esteem issues I may have (lol)! Age and wisdom have helped me to be finally free of that archiles heel. Be yourself (not to own what is the best synth out there for others to see you have); use what helps you to shine at YOUR best!!!

Check this guy out! He, to me, has a great sound and is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. I wish and hope we can hear more of what he's doing:

My "other" is a King Korg although I can add in my Korg Wavestation EX as well if I feel like carrying more equipment. I usually don't.

Would love a DSI Prophet 6 as well but not before the DSI OB6. Seems years ago there were two crowds the P6 crowd and the OB6 crowd obviously nothing has changed.

I just tought of a monophonic (or duophonic one). Perhaps a modular synth. Actually I would rather like a real Analog one.
