Kronos LS Exs installation problems

Post by SoulBe »

Hi,

finally I got a Kronos LS because I was afraid of further gigging with my Oasys 76.

Now I have the problem that I cannot install Exs Demos, every time an error message occurs. I read all the topics about, used several Korg formatted usb sticks with K2 unzipped folder in the root but still no possibility to install.

Does somebody own a LS and have the same problems?

You can go by this installation of EX's 93.

The instructions should be right where you downloaded the demo.

Maybe try formatting the USB on the Kronos.

I had the same error message after following the right routine including unzipping the file.
Over and over again, same problem until i watched a video that actually went through the steps of unzipping.
I was not doing the unzip and copy correctly. I did actually unzip the file to see the root files but when copyng the files, it was being copied in unzipped form. Even though i could see the root files in the copied file when i opened it, it had not copied in the correct unzipped form.
So i had to unzip a final time and copy and paste in a way that coppied each root file independently. I had all the files on the USB stick and they were lined up in an unzipped form and not a file that had to be opened on kronos.
That worked, no error message after.

Notice the part where he copoies and pastes the unzipped files to the formated USB stick. All files copied while opened to the uzipped state. I was unzipping and then my copy or move to USB was actually moving the while file as unzipped.

Hi,

that solved the problem. Thanks. I didn´t check the OS, because I thought, the LS would be delivered with the actual OS. Everythings works fine now.

Gern geschehen, viele Grüße aus dem Saarland :-)

Could you please tell me how the action is? Is it heavier than that of the K61?
I like the Nord semi weighted ones, they are rather heavy and just right for me.

Grüße aus dem Schwabenland ;)

I don´t know the action of the K61, so I cannot compare.
In my opinion it is a little heavier than the Oasys 76 synth action and you can play pianos better than on the O 76 action.
On the other hand you can play synth and Organs very well, so for me it is the action I was looking for. The Ls and a 49 midicontroler will replace my gigging gear -Yamaha ES8 and O 76 - 18 kg instead of 50 kg
