......I've modified a few inbuilt styles to suit my songs
(key, tempo etc)....renamed them and added them to the total songbook list...
Now I want to delete a few (my own) but DELETE won't work....WHY NOT ?

Have you unlocked songbook? Necessary prior to songbook entry elimination. Enable list edit from pulldown upper right hand. Go to song on list to eliminate. Hit book edit tab on bottom. Then hit "del song" box and follow prompts.
