Using Expression pedal with PA3X

Post by joezach »

I'm so used to using expression pedal with any keyboard. The pedal I was using stopped working, so I went ahead and bought a new one, korg XVP-20 - VOL/EXP PEDAL. Expensive- $160. I had high hopes on this one, but completely dis-satisfied. The sound breaks in between any where below the peak volume level. I used to put the blame on the PA system until I realised it was my new Expression pedal. (I had this issue even with the old expression pedal also, but never this bad). I did the calibration all very well, by the book.
I can't live without an expression pedal.

Anyone, PLEASE HELP!

I have successfully used Yamaha FC7 and the expression pedals on Behringer FCB1010

I also have Roland EV-5 but it's rubbish

Never tried the Korg pedal

I use EXP2 by Korg, and works perfectly.

The very nice thing is that you can assign the expression pedal to individual parts: off to a piano or guitar, on to the strings pad or organs. Fantastic option.

Another nice thing is to control a midi device with expression. In my case, I use an Hammond XMC2 module that makes organ sounds and Leslie much better than Pa3x, and the expression is a must for an Hammond organ.
