Update on 2.0 OS update
I followed all the instructions and guidance you guys and still end up with the same results. Yes, Pete the new Korg boot up window is there but so is 1.2.1 not 2.0. Some of the new styles are in the favorites. Reloading my songbook works but won't save.
So I will take 2Duby from Pennsylvania up on his offer on the original OS for PA4, install it and then reinstall 1.2.1. 2Duby, please check your e-mail thanks all.

If your booting screen shows OS v.121 , this means that you haven't installed V2 newer sound resources ,
so normally if you goto Media/Utility/ make a factory restore and then you will load your SET.ALL , your Pa4X
will return to the state that was before Upgrading , except if data corruption has been occured ...

Bright minds think alike Anthony and yours is one of the best. My wife is the brain in our house and helps me with this kind of stuff.
So let's be clear.
Earlier we installed OS 2.0. Immediately some of the keys were not responding
Then when we downloaded my songbook I found that when I called up some of the songs, it said "resource not available"
So then we reloaded 1.21.
Now what we have is when booting up we have the normal boot for OS 1.21 plus a smaller window which says "please wait" then another smaller window once again "please wait" . Which in the end takes up to 3 minutes to boot the keyboard up.
Still trying to figure that out. Tomorrow is another day. Thanks again. Chuck

Chuck , if at current state (v.121) Media/Utility/Factory Restore is not capable to recall all older sounds then
sorry but you have either to reload OS V.2 nor load the 2,3 GB of full Pa4X library resources of OS v.1xx that
are available only by service center customer support or probably by Ruby 2 as mentioned !
What you have there is OSv.121 with sound resources of v.2 (thing that I had missed) !!!
Normal Pa4X Boot time with only factory sound resources under OS V2 is 65 seconds ... while in your Pa4X OS v.1
try to address and redirect factory samples every time you restart it , that's why those window labels appear !
and it needs further investigation !
Hope this helps

BTW , this is not rational and usually not software related (except if OS is frozen at current time)Chuck wrote:Earlier we installed OS 2.0. Immediately some of the keys were not responding

I have to go back to 1.2.4 because of the CDG lyrics from the first loading of a CD+G file is not clearing. (That issue - in OS2 has been acknowledged elsewhere on the forum and is due to be fixed in the next release).
Should I expect to experience problems going back to 1.2.4?
Should I be requesting the original factory files before going to 1.2.4?
I did notice that OS 2 was a major sized download compared to the incremental downloads in OS 1.1._ and 1.2._.
I am a little wary of screwing my keyboard up as I use it in performance weekly.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

As mentioned in many topics lately , OS v.2 is not just an OS update that you can go backwards , it changes the whole factory sound library !
So if reverting to OS v1.XX , factory sound library association with older OS might have been messed up and not work properly
(haven't try it yet since I'm busy with developing under new OS).
So by definition if you revert to older OS V1 then you also need the whole factory sound resources of 2,3 Gb (as mentioned above)
that have not been officially released by KorgPa yet !
At present time there is no return to OS v.1xx if you upgrade to new factory library of OS v.2 !!!
Beware professional performers ... do not upgrade or downgrade between OS v.2 & any OS v.1xx without owning
Sound factory resources (>2GB) of Both Operating Systems ! This is not a simple OS Update !!!
PS : Paolo , please propose or arrange an official downloading link with full factory sound resources of older Pa4X OS v.1xx
until new fixed OS v.2xx is released , for users that want to temporary revert to OS v.121 ...

Thanks for this information. Hopefully either a OS2 fix or a safe passage to OS1.?.? will be provided.
I did not upgrade to OS2 thinking that it would mess up something that already worked. (CDG lyrics problem). I probably should have waited another few weeks to make sure it was stable.
Anyway - thanks again for clarifying this for me.
