Backing up styles with external rhythm box?

Is there any hardware or software that we can use with the 4x, so when we start the style, it automatically percive the metronome and integrates?

You can send MIDI clock on any channel and connect any other MIDI compatible keyboard/source and presumably trigger another sound/rhythm

can you detail it for a newbie or tell how to do it? would be nice using 4x with ableton but need examples...
